During operation, it is necessary to develop the habit of regularly flushing the bottom slag discharge outlet to prevent long-term accumulation of sediment, which may affect the normal opening and closing of the valve.

When the opening and closing force of the valve is significantly increased or the action is not smooth, it should be stopped for inspection in a timely manner. In most cases, the problem arises from solid particles entering between the gate and valve seat, or from worn seals. At this time, the stuck particles should be cleaned up and the seals should be replaced according to the wear condition to avoid "minor problems" from escalating into the scrapping of the entire valve.
